Alright, so I gave romance novels a shot at the beginning of the month, but they didn't do it for me. Now I've got a stack of books lined up and I'm really excited about my October TBR list. Let's do this!
The first book on my table is Throne of the Fallen by Kerri Maniscalco, and I'm excited to dive into this thrilling world. Although I've never read any of her books before, this one can be enjoyed as a standalone or as part of the Kingdom of the Wicked trilogy. As a fan of the Seven Deadly Sins (thanks to Fullmetal Alchemist anime which I watched 20 years ago), I was intrigued to learn that the kings and princes in these books are based on the sins. Kingdom of the Wicked explores Wrath, while Throne of the Fallen delves into Envy. I can't wait to explore the depths of this captivating world and decide if I want to continue with the previous trilogy and the upcoming standalones.
None Of This Is True by Lisa Jewell has been on my TBR list for quite some time now. The current weather and the vibe of this month make it the perfect moment to delve into this book. I've never read any of her books before, so I'm excited to see what it's all about.
Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood came out in mid-September. It's the author's first book, and it's a cozy fantasy about a witch who runs a book store. Her magical powers are asleep, and there's also a romantic subplot. I'm interested in giving this book a try.
I found One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig to be an intriguing dark fantasy with an eye-catching cover. After hearing great reviews from the booktubers I follow about the Shepard King duology, I can't wait to start reading this book.
I can't wait to read The Wicked King by Holly Black next. I really enjoyed The Cruel Prince, and I'm excited to continue with the Folk of the Air series. The detailed world-building and political intrigue in the first book reminded me why I love YA fantasy.
This month, I have a pile of fantasy books, which has taken me by surprise.
