As my very first foray into the world of psychological thrillers, Lisa Jewell’s “None of This Is True” has set a high bar for my future reads. This book marks not only my introduction to the genre but also Jewell’s captivating writing style, and I couldn’t be more impressed.

The story centres on two women—Alix, a podcaster drawn into the life of the mysterious Josie. Jewell masterfully builds tension, keeping me guessing at every turn. The characters are complex and relatable, each hiding secrets that unfold in unexpected ways. I found myself questioning who to trust and what was real, which is exactly what I hoped for from a psychological thriller.

The pacing is spot-on, with each chapter ending in a way that compelled me to keep reading late into the night. Jewell’s writing is both engaging and atmospheric, making it easy to lose myself in the story. While there were a couple of moments that stretched believability, they didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment.

“None of This Is True” is a fantastic entry point into the genre, and I can’t wait to explore more of Lisa Jewell’s work. This book has left me eager for my next psychological thrill ride. Highly recommended for anyone looking to dive into suspenseful storytelling.
