I really enjoyed the morally complex character of Billy Summers. Despite facing a tough childhood and spending time in foster care and the military, he seeks a more traditional life. However, I found some of his decisions frustrating, and the unresolved issues in his story bothered me. The unexpected twist in the plot halfway through the book hooked me, and I appreciated the depth added by the story within a story. Stephen King's attention to detail and character development captivated me. This crime fiction novel surprised me as a non-horror fan, and I give it 5 stars for how much I enjoyed it.
